5 star and so much more. Where to start! The food is always out of this world, from a beautiful carvery to delicious pizzas and burgers! From the moment you walk into the Angel, you are made to feel so welcome by all the lovely staff, nothing is ever too much trouble and they have always been brilliant with our children. Accommodation is excellent and such good value for money. We have just returned from our Christmas meal today, with Santa’s grotto which is by far the best Santa we have ever met! So different and made the whole families day from grandparents to a 3 year old. Finally, we were so lucky to have spent our wedding day here in May, which was perfect from start to finish. Wendy is just fantastic in everything that she does followed by such a well managed, fantastic team. The Angel is just so personal and we have never known anywhere like it. A Fantastic Stay with Excellent Service and Food I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, making sure everything was just right. The bedrooms were clean, well-appointed, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable—perfect for a great night’s sleep. One of the highlights was the Sunday carvery, which was excellent. The selection of meats—beef, turkey, and gammon—was cooked to perfection. The beef, in particular, was beautifully tender and full of flavor, making it an absolute delight. Breakfast was also a treat, offering a variety of options to start the day right. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I would definitely stay again!

Nice quiet hotel. Our room was clean with the added benefit of a bath.

Sort of motel. Room was too hot when we arrived. Dread to think what their energy costs are, but better than arriving into an ice box which seems more common these days. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice food, quickly served and hearty. A useful location. It was surprisingly busy there.

Really well worth the money. Very clean all over the hotel. Janet the Deputy Manager was a refreshing start to my stay. I can't fault the place.

We had our wedding here and I cannot thank Wendy and her team, and all the staff at The Angel enough. Wendy and Ryan, especially, have both been incredible to work with. Wendy, the events coordinator, made the entire process from start to finish extremely easy and stress free. She was very accommodating with what we wanted and the communication was excellent. She also ensured the day ran smoothly, followed our timeline, and made sure the function room was how we wanted it before inviting guests in. Though I wasn’t sure I wanted it, she made me do a first look with my dad and I am so glad she just sorted it because it was one of my dad’s favourite memory! She is very personable and easy to talk to and get on with and we enjoyed working with her! Ryan, the chef, was absolutely fab to work with. He curated our canapés for us based on what I said I wanted and they all tasted amazing. We had a carvery for our wedding breakfast and honestly, this was the first time we’ve ever been full at a wedding. Our guests were absolutely stuffed. And the desserts were to die for. It’s the one thing our guests were raving about even weeks after the wedding! Ryan also worked with us to ensure our evening buffet was as wanted - I am Canadian so wanted poutine as the evening buffet. He was able to work with us and deliver a comfort dish from home. Honestly, the food was absolutely to die for! All the staff, from restaurant/bar to housekeeping, were extremely friendly and lovely to chat to as well! They were very accommodating to us and our guests and we are grateful to have had such a great team look after us on our special day. The atmosphere at this venue is very relaxed and chilled which is what we wanted. And the Nicholson suite is absolutely stunning with beautiful wooden beams and a skylight. I highly recommend looking at The Angel when looking for a wedding venue.

I cannot thank Wendy and her incredible team at The Angel Hotel enough for the care and compassion they showed when hosting my mum's wake. From start to finish, they were absolutely amazing. Every detail was handled with professionalism and warmth, making a difficult day so much easier for our family and friends. The food was exceptional, beautifully presented, and thoroughly enjoyed by all our guests. It’s clear the team takes great pride in what they do, and their attention to detail and kindness shone through in everything. Wendy and her team went above and beyond to create a welcoming and comforting atmosphere, and we felt truly supported . The rooms were warm comfortable and very clean and we had a good night’s sleep. The staff were very helpful and made us feel welcomed. The breakfast was plentiful and hot. The location, although out of the way, it was quiet at night. We will stay here again.
